The Catamount Forest is managed as a working forest; and harvesting of trees takes place to remove hazard trees along trails, improve forest health, and produce value-added products made from wood grown on the property. We are working with local furniture makers to produce custom-made stools, Adirondack chairs, and other products from maple and black cherry wood grown in the sustainably managed forest.
Custom-made furniture, as used in Catamount Lodge, is available to purchase directly from Catamount Lodge & Forest LLC. Black cherry stools and other items also are available at the TAUNY Center on Main Street in Canton; and maple stools and other kitchen-related products are available at the Maple Run Emporium on Market Street in Potsdam.
Amish-made stools, in limited quantity, are typically available for immediate delivery or shipping; but all other furniture and large quantities usually have to be ordered. Inquiries, including cost to deliver nearby or ship otherwise, should be sent to our e-mail address: info@catamountlodge.com. Inquiries about other custom-made furniture, such as tables and chairs, also are welcome.
More information is provided below about the stools, Adirondack chairs, and other products, including order forms for purchasing furniture directly. The forms are in PDF format; and should be printed to fill out and send to the address given. If you have trouble opening the documents, then please contact us.

Adirondack Chairs
Three sizes of Adirondack chairs are crafted by a family member -- Joel Howie of Canton, New York. He constructs the chairs from maple and/or black cherry wood grown on the property. The chairs are hefty--each generous in size and more substantial than the average Adirondack chair. Although traditional in style, the chairs are more upright and more comfortable due to the contoured seat and back.
Catamount Cub -- a sturdy and weighty chair for children and smaller adults, with the seat slats measuring 20 inches wide.
Catamount Lioness -- a sturdy, weighty, and generous-sized chair for most adults.
